What is the difference between an apparition and a manifestation?

      Now my thinking is, whether it’s right or wrong I have no clue so I’d be interested to see what others think, but I think an apparition is when you see a fully formed spirit and a manifestation is when you see the beginnings of a full apparition, like unexplained mist, similar to the photo in the Mysterious Mist chat.
