Join us at the very haunted errie location that is Crabble Corn Mill.
The mill was rescued by the Crabble corn mill trust for demolition and opened to the public in 1990 and is a working examples of a Georgian watermill.The current structure was built in 1812 However, records show that there has been a mill on this site since at least 1227. There has been said the site has witnessed it fair share of tragedy within its walls. Originally the site sat on 4 acres of land, complete with stables, and horses, and acres of lush meadow Hay.
The location spreads across 6 floors and across these floors there have been some truly horrible deaths that have happened there.
The most reported activity appears to be linked to the following tragedies.
Poor Edward and William Cruft were brothers and they were apprentice millers at Crabble Mill in the 1800’s. Edward was 4 years old when he met his demise at the mill on level 4, where he fell into the hopper and drowned in the flour in 1814. William unfortunately met his death just 4 years later.William fell into the gear workings in 1822.
There have been several reported sightings of children in the mill over the years, visitors to the mill have commented on occasions as to the “Victorian children running around, a nice touch!”
George Daynes was married to Phoebe and they bore 18 children. George and Phoebe resided in one of the miller’s cottages sited next to the mill.
George, born in 1851 became a miller at Crabble in 1883 until 1892. George contracted miller’s lung and died in 1907. Several people have reported respiratory difficulties whilst in the Mill and feelings of not being able to breath!
When you arrive, you will be greeted by one of our team and you will be placed into a small group. Once introductions have been made and the team have run though the health and safety. You will explore different parts of the building throughout the evening with your team member. You will get the chance to conduct some amazing experiments such as Ouija Boards, Table Tipping, Glass Moving vigils and our up-to-date ghost hunting equipment. We will be using the most active areas of the venue throughout the night and you will be guided through this terrifying process by our friendly and capable team. Included near the end of your evening you will be able to go off and explore for an hour to yourself using what equipment you would like. Do you dare to explore the unknown?
